You definitely have to love film and stage design to fully appreciate this place.. But if you do, then it a stellar experience. Seeing the transformation from Zefferelli's graphic representation to stage: play and opera, gives an insight into what an imagination and vision he must have had. I loved the Inferno room and his pictorial translation of Dante's Circles of Hell..Spent over two hours here and then enjoyed their tapas and coffee outside.
Impressed by FZ museum. I adore his Romeo and Juliette and in his museum i could see his photos in the process, personsl things, original clothes from movies, his awards. Was surprised that Franco Zeffirelli was born in Florence, his career path. I would like to go there again.
This was a great museum especially if you're a movie buff. Franco did so many productions, movies and operas, an incredible man. No lines, maybe takes an hour or two at most.
A genius well presented and well worth learning about from this friendly, well set out and inspiring Museum.
Excellent performance of popular opera ariass in a fabulous sounding hall. Received a flyer in line at the Santa Maria del fiori and bought tickets online in advance. 35 Euros well worth it.
I came across this place by chance and loved it. You can see some amazing schetches of opera scenography and original costumes designed for opera singers.
The building of the Franco Zeffirelli Foundation has a little bit of everything, including an exhibition space, a library containing the collection of books that the director owned, a tearoom, an outdoor dining area, a great looking courtyard and a bookshop. You'll definitely find something that you like to spend money and time on.
A small but interesting museum.
